The system combines three distinct phases into a single, synchronized process:
- Film Preparation: The tubular film is prepared for application.
- Transfer and Opening: The film is transferred and opened to receive the product.
- Hooding and Heat Shrinking: The film is applied as a hood over the product and then uniformly shrunk.
This synchronized approach minimizes downtime between operations, leading to high productivity levels, packaging up to 140 pallets per hour.
Key Design and Operational Features
The SH-51 is engineered for both performance and ease of use:
- Independent Film Handling: The system that grips and handles the tubular film operates independently from the heat shrinking mechanism. This design prevents interference, significantly enhancing the wear resistance of components and wires and ensuring maximum reliability.
- Optimized Hooding: The lower edge of the film hood is internally guided by four grippers. These grippers tension the film and drive it down to the base of the pallet. This method ensures a strong, simple, and effective grip, while also optimizing the use of tubular film dimensions to minimize material waste.
- Advanced Burner Technology: The burners are specifically designed to deliver consistent, soft, and uniform heat treatment to the hoods. This allows for the effective shrinking of even thinner films. Crucially, the flame is ignited only when shrinking is required, making the SH-51 more energy-efficient compared to traditional continuous-oven systems.
- Ergonomic Reel Handling: The reel holder, standard for up to 3 rolls, is mounted on a movable carriage. This ergonomic design allows for fast, easy, and safe access from the ground level when loading new film reels.
- Safety and Environmental Responsibility: The combustion air distribution system ensures optimal combustion, preventing the emission of unburnt gases into the environment. An automatic detection device is included to interrupt the gas supply if the flame is not present, enhancing operational safety.
