Automatic Steel Wire Coiling and Strapping Machine

This horizontal-type machine provides an integrated, automated solution for the winding and strapping of steel wire coils. It is engineered for precision, efficiency, and reliable operation in industrial environments.

Key Components and Functionality

• Meter Counter: Equipped with an accurate meter counter to precisely track the length of wire being coiled, enabling programmed coil lengths. It offers precision up to the centimeter. Features durable aluminum alloy wheels, including an upper wheel treated with ceramic for hardness and a lower wheel covered in strong glue to protect the wire. A single-direction bearing prevents wire reversal.
• Coiling Head: The coiling head is designed with up and down movement to facilitate the take-off of finished wire coils and secure the wire head at the start of a new coil. Controlled by a servo system, it precisely manages wire take-up and pay-off, ensuring uniform and regular coil formation.
• Holder: A computer-controlled holder with servo motor drives is used for securely clamping the formed wire coil. This holder accurately positions and transports the coil to the strapping station automatically.
• Automatic Cutter: The system includes an automatic cutter that activates when the programmed wire length for a coil is reached. The cutter blade is made from special alloy steel and processed with vacuum heating for enhanced hardness and prolonged lifespan.

Automation Control System

The entire coiling and strapping cycle is governed by a sophisticated automation control system comprising a Human-Machine Interface (HMI), PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), and servo systems. Via the touch screen interface, operators can easily set and adjust parameters such as winding speed, target wire reel length, alarm settings, speed adjustments, and control machine functions like emergency stop and reset. The system allows for adjustments to wire coil size, including reel length and wire diameter, and permits changes to wire speed even during operation.

Strapping Process Details

The machine incorporates an automated strapping unit with the following features:

• Performs eye-through type strapping.
• Automated strapping sequence is controlled by the machine program.
• Automatic positioning ensures accurate strap placement on the coil.
• Adjustable strap tension caters to varying wire coil sizes and strapping requirements.

PP Belt Pay-off Device

The system includes a dedicated device for unwinding the PP strapping belt. This pay-off device accumulates the belt to ensure a smooth feed into the strapping unit. Movable wheels within the system provide feedback on the belt feeding speed to the pay-off stand, contributing to efficient machine performance.
